World of Warcraft: PTR downtime today - Image 1

The Public Test Realms in World of Warcraft will be experiencing some downtime today so don't be alarmed if you found you can't enter them. The downtime will only last for a few hours and should be up by 5 p.m. PST.

Blizzard poster Hortus announced the downtime at the World of Warcraft forums, although he didn't offer any reasons why. Some have speculated that its due to the change to the new build. Of course, it could just as easily be hardware maintenance. Here's Hortus' post:

The PTRs will be taken down today at 10:45 AM PST to update to a new build. We expect the downtime to be four to six hours. (5pm PST). Thank you for your patience.
