Windfury - Image 1Last time we reported about Windfury, it was a thread in the World of Warcraft forums started by Azaranth explaining why the mechanics were flawed in the weapon buff. He showed some calculations and Blizzard poster Tseric took interest in the concern. Now, shamans are all ears as to the conclusion of the discussion.

Basically Windfury has an effect that imbues a Shaman's weapon with wind. It has a proc (Programmed Random OCcurance or Potential Rate Of Cast) of 20% to deal double damage (or additional damage equal to two extra attacks). During the last discussion, Tseric promised that he'll forward the concern to the devs. Here's the outcome of that meeting:

Downranking Windfury on two weapons to gain separate cooldowns is a bug with a fix incoming. This means down-ranking on different weapons will no longer stagger cooldowns. The devs want this bug resolved, as it has been a primary source of unintended Enhancement DPS, which they have seen as excessive. Enhancement DPS has been high in many situations and this is something they want to tone down. When this change goes live, it will lend itself to that end, rather than the devs having to look for direct changes to Enh. DPS. Good chance they will still be watching this aspect of Shaman after the bug fix is implemented.

Oh-kaaay. So it seems that heal is not the only thing Shamans downrank. Anyway, there you have it folks. If you want to check out the entire thread (we warn you in advance, it's 918 posts long) by clicking the via link below.

That is exactly that same "outcome" form months ago. Why is this news?
