World of Warcraft forums: A suggestion for a group duel feature - Image 1It's interesting what sort of ideas you can run into when you're a frequent visitor of World of Warcraft's forums. In this particular case, we're talking about a suggestion player Shaela posted  a the MMORPG's Europe forums regarding the current duel system.

A duel, for those asking, is a way for WoW players (ususally in the PvE realms) to challenge another player with their consent. Duels can be implemented with players from other factions, or more usually, players from your own group.

Getting back to the forum topic, Shaela suggested that Blizzard could try upping the ante for the duel feature by adding a group function. As the player elaborated:

The option to duel another group or raid group. This would make some interesting duels both horde vs alliance because you get removed from combat when you die like in a normal duel. The group that gets all players eliminated looses offcourse. This would be real cool because you could fight horde vs horde, or alliance vs alliance also in this way. 2on2 outside of orgrimmar or somewhere in stranglethorn vale or wherever you want. Guild vs Guild in one faction.

Slorkuz dropped by to clarify that a similar system was already in place, via the  world arenas in Stranglethorn Vale, Nagrand, and Blade's Edge Mountain. The blue-poster further noted that the game's devs currently did not have any plans to implement the group duel feature.

That said, Shaela's idea does seem pretty good. While you don't get any XP, honors, or loot when you win a duel, it serves as good combat practice - an important factor to remember if you're preparing for WoW's fast and furious PvP arenas.
