World of Warcraft: got elemental totem trouble? - Image 1

"One at a time please." If you're a first time World of Warcraft Shaman and found that the global cooldown for totem popping (sorry, it's this writer's expression) is a trifle too much, you might want to revel in a little Shammy lore. If the true count of deployed elemental totems eludes your mental grasp, experienced Shammies say you get to drop one totem for each element and that is all.

But the answer to why your Shaman can't seem to do anything after you plop a pole out resides pretty much in eternally burning Nethaera's render of Shaman totem-lore. "You are drawing on the power of the elements and as such, it takes great effort," said Blizzard's community manager, who's also training up her own Enhancement shammy.

As far as totem quality goes, however, we're not even going to tap into that piece of lore. Some experienced players noticed how flimsy the totems are at 5 hitpoints strong and figured that they're probably made of balsa wood. Well, not that bamboo would do anything for your totem pole either.

But if you're one of many World of Warcraft players hoping to catch sight of another ale-downing Pandaren soon, well then, bamboo's the way to go!
