Blizzard's World of Warcraft Grimtotem Spirit Guide - Image 1Blizzard Community Manager Drysc has announced that they've applied a new hotfix in Blizzard's World of Warcraft which removes the players' ability to tame the Grimtotem Spirit Guide.

Thankfully, players who were able to tame the pet will get to keep it. This bit is rather of much important given the difficulty of getting one.

According to Drysc, they considered various factors before coming to this decision. The topics they discussed included the unintended nature of the taming, the undead status of the guide, appearance of the wolf in relation to the feel of the hunter class, and the complex processes of taming.

In the end though, they decided that the Grimtotem Spirit Guide should not be included as a permanent addition to the pets available to hunters. Oh well, at least we know that they did give it a lot of thought before deciding to remove the pet.
