Information on World of Warcraft, circa Patch 2.4, is rather scarce, but that doesn't stop people from preparing for it. Blizzard MVP Iriel and CM Slouken are helping folks prepare for the deluge of information that will eventually be made known for 2.4 by making a list of upcoming 2.4 changes to the User Interface and amending the posts as they happen.
Besides some basic information on the creation of the Sunwell Isle instance and a statement from J. Allen Brack, Lead Producer for Wrath of the Lich King, saying that they plan on having 2.4 out on the PTRs before the year ends, the only other information we know is that Blizzard is planning on making changes to the combat logging mechanism.
Iriel notes the following as a significant change to the combat logs:
The combat logging mechanism is completely overhauled with explicit data instead of text strings delivered to the UI....Highlights include detailed flags indicating relationship of involved units to player, unique identifiers for units with the same name within the combat log - great for log analysis. Slouken also chimed in with a "raw sneak preview" of the code that's supposed to be implemented in the patch, with a note reminding players that none of the changes are final as of yet. In any event, UI makers and Blizzard fans alike will probably want to keep the forum post bookmarked for future reference.
