Blizzard's World of Warcraft - Image 1

An MMORPG evolves over time to meet the demands of the playerbase. However, just because a feature hasn't been implemented yet doesn't necessarily mean it never will be. An example of this is Guild and Player Housing in World of Warcraft.

Guild and Player Housing has been a hoped-for feature for a long time now and has sparked numerous debates and forum threads. Another such forum thread appeared recently, as gamer Kthx asks why Blizzard keeps on "ignoring" the clamor.

Blizzard's always been open to the idea of Housing, except that the best promise they gave on the feature is that it will happen "sometime in the future." This is probably why gamer Wayanoru replied in the thread that Blizzard should stop "pull[ing] us along by the strings."

Blizzard poster Bornakk later replied saying:

I doubt saying something like that would stop these threads from coming up, but putting that aside, we say we would like to do it because there are a lot of things we would like to implement but have chosen for one reason or another not to do so yet.

We don't know what the future holds though and so we don't want to rule it out entirely, we just have no current plans to implement a feature like this.

So remember, just because a feature is taking a long time to arrive doesn't mean it will never come.
