World of Warcraft - Enchanters need a better way of selling services. - Image 1

World of Warcraft
, as an inspiration to others for its (surreal) world economy, is the place to be for a budding entrepreneur. Professions and resources are abundant enough to allow anyone to grab a piece of the profit pie. But not all are happy about the limitations in the market, and enchanters have had a lot to say.

The Auction House, a business bub's place-to-be, is provided to those sellers who have some goods that are in demand on the market. It allows the players to sell even while logged off from the game. However, it's only for items (including gems pretty soon), and not for services. This is where the professional enchanters out there start to complain.

Although items with enchanted items can be sold in the House, enchants (or enchantments) cannot. For many of the enchant-capable players out there, enchantments bring the major "cha-ching!" factor to their income. They simply cannot go by farming for items and then crafting, which could cost them more than just a couple of gold.

Enchantments are sold by shouting around the highly populated locations all over Outland and Azeroth, and hope that someone spots your ad before it disappears in the flurry of other ads being shouted out, including LFGs. It's not an effective way, but it's the only way to get customers or let people know you're there to fulfill their enchantment needs.

We can see the complexity in why services can't be quantified and implemented in something systematic like the Auction House, but at least Blizzard could provide a personal store option for those poor folk who are just trying to earn a piece of silver the right way.

» Blizzard needs an Enchanters Pavillion

Blizzard just needs to set up an area in major cities where people go to buy and sell enchantments. They could have large signs for boots, chest, weapons, and people could meet under the signs and haggle for the right enchantments.
