Blizzard's World of Warcraft, Wrath of the Lich King - Image 1

World of Warcraft gamer Pahs recently posted a rather long appeal in the WoW forums, asking for the return of the Honor Grind. He argues that the absence of the Honor Grind allows less room for dedication for the game and gives too much easy PvP gear.

Blizzard poster Tyren later replied that:

The honor grind and titles era definitely has its place in the history of WoW, but I can say with a great deal of confidence that we are much happier with the variety of PvP options that are available to players today.

Battlegrounds

Arenas

World PvP (Halaa, EPL)

/sarcasm And my favorite - ganking at the meeting stone

Also, Wrath of the Lich King will introduce destructible terrain and siege weapons as well.

The implementation of destructible terrain and siege weapons in Wrath of the Lich King have been known for a long time now, and Tyren's comment inspires a lot of thought into how much they would actually mean for PvP in World of Warcraft.

As it stands though, would the current system (and the arrival of the new features) be enough to satisfy those who feel the absence of the Honor Grind system? At any rate it will offer new challenges and new ways of playing the game, that's for sure.
