Blizzard's World of Warcraft MMORPG - Image 1The light shall protect the Paladin from all harm. If that doesn't work, the holy knight can always rely on the tried and tested "mace in the face" technique. The latter is pretty much the norm in World of Warcraft. Blizzard probably realized this and decided to give the class some upgrades this patch 2.3.2 to help them lay the smackdown on the unbelievers.

Community Manager Salthem said that Crusader Strike, Righteous Fury, and Sanctified Judgements will all be getting buffed. This should help the Paladins dish out sustained DPS instead of the burst damage the class is known for.

Crusader Strike no longer gain any bonus from spell damage but now inflicts 110% of weapon damage. This opens up huge damage potential for Paladins who use double-handed swords without having to waste time boosting up spell damage.

Mana management is a huge aspect of playing a Paladins. With that in mind, players will appreciate the fact that Righteous Fury will no longer cost twice the listed mana cost to cast. Speaking of mana conservation, Sanctified Judgements now returns 80% of the seal's mana cost. A huge boon allowing Paladin's to actually use seals as quick nukes while healing their allies.

These changes are not so monumental as to create a shift in the way Paladins are played. However, the buffs improve the damage/mana ratio of the class, making it much better for prolonged encounters. Considering that any extended battle with these warriors of the light normally ends up with them walking away, these additions are just icing on the cake.
