The new Death Knight hero class is perhaps one of the most anticipated pieces of game content in the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion of Blizzard's World of Warcraft. The official WotLK microsite has recently updated itself with some information regarding the new battle-minded class.

While a lot of the information on the site was already discussed by various game developers, it does give a nice visual representation of an actual Death Knight character on the front page. In addition, you can also read up on some of the interesting background lore and download some wallpaper eye candy found on some of the links at the bottom of the site.

Aside from the Death Knight extravaganza, Blizzard was also able to outline some of the more interesting gameplay mechanics behind the new expansion. Rewards for completing raid dungeons have now been scaled to the reflect the amount of party members participating in it; with more and higher quality loot for larger instances.

To wrap things up, Blizzard gave a sneak peek into some of the details of the new vehicle-based content WotLK will be getting. Suffice it to say, this will put an interesting spin into some of the concepts originally developed for PvP siege gameplay. Players will have to complete some specialized quests to see how well they can drive shotgun on their pimping new rides.

Wrath of the Lich King has been given an estimated release date for the second half of this year.
