The World of Warcraft website currently had a major facelift, and now the new main page design is officially online. As with most updates, this change to the official WoW community site was done to make the website more user-friendly and more accessible to players. No more rummaging the site to find exactly what you're looking for - at least that's what this "facelift" wants to happen. Changes were made to the left side menu - it had been expanded which now makes web content easy to access. The main page will allow both members and first-time visitors keep track of updates to the game, recent events and the freshest WoW news. With the WoW updated website, I'm wishing WoW news and other announcements about the game will reach the players (like those scheduled down times, and those new patches). |

Blizzard is once again calling for gamers both old and new to sign up for the free 10-day trial of their famous MMO Role-Playing Game World of Warcraft.Interested individuals interested in signing up can follow the link at the bottom of this entry to register for this free trial. Characters created by users with their unique Free Trial accounts will not be deleted and can still be used once gamers renew their accounts by buying a retail copy of WoW. There's more good news. Once accounts have been upgraded by purchasing the retail copy, users will be given another 30 days of free WoW action. Only after these free trial periods will the regular monthly fees be applied to gamers' credit cards. Come to think of it, Blizzard already has its hands full with its six million-plus subscribers, so why call for new players? Should Blizzard be worried about the other popular MMO Gods & Heroes especially after it launched its own registration for a free 10-day trial? |

Ever since the first Warcraft title was released in 1994, Blizzard Entertainment's popular game has always had a loyal following. This even grew in number when the title won several Game of the Year awards and when more titles included in the Warcraft series were released – Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness in 1995, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos in 2002, and, the online game World of Warcraft.
The Warcraft world will be expanding soon, but I'm not talking about the planned China expansion. World of Warcraft will be hitting the big screen in the near future as Blizzard Entertainment has entered into an agreement with Legendary Pictures to develop a live-action film that is based on the Warcraft universe.
Blizzard Entertainment agreed to a movie version of Warcraft only recently because different companies who approached them before didn't seem right for the project. According to the chief operating officer of Blizzard Entertainment Paul Sams, “They (Legendary Pictures) clearly share our high standards for creative development, and because they understand the vision that we've always strived for with our Warcraft games, we feel there isn't a better studio out there for bringing the Warcraft story to film."
When asked about Legendary Pictures' plans on the film version of the Warcraft series, Jon Jashni, Legendary Pictures' chief creative officer says this about the project: "We are intending to approach this as we would the adaptation of a best-selling novel: respect the essence of all that it is but also build upon that fertile base while translating it into a new medium."
Hopefully, this move to create a film based on the Blizzard game will boost the popularity of the Warcraft series more and will enable even non-gamers to appreciate the vast expanse of the Warcraft universe. |

This seems to be the case as many gamers have been vocal about the problems they've been faced with when they're in the Warcraft world - that's if they even get to enter the world. Authentication of players are also taking too much time according to some helpless victims/players.Blizzard has already tried addressing the gaming community (and not the problem!) about this problem WoW has been having, blaming their network provider AT&T and the fact that massively multiplayer games like the World of Warcraft are prone to technical problems. But these answers are not what gamers want to hear from Blizzard especially when they've experienced major setbacks when they're inside Warcraft (and still outside of it). There have been reports of players waiting too long (some up to an hour) for the server to authenticate, and when they're finally inside the world, they only get to play for a few minutes. Other problems in the game include "layer peeling" because of delays which strip out the interactive elements of the game, leaving the players in an empty world. Monsters, gatherable resources and computer-controlled characters are not refreshed when the characters try to explore further in Warcraft world. Gamers have also been saying that these delays often happen during the most inconvenient time during the game, like when the healing potion needs to work for the character to not get overwhelmed by enemies and when loot from defeated monsters takes too much time to get transferred to the character's backpack. Blizzard, in a lengthy post in the game's official forums, stated that they were not happy with what was happening to the game's 336 realms. The development team also added that Blizzard has ongoing upgrades to hardware and software to support the copies of the world, as the team is going to add 22 more realms in North America and 30 more in Europe. Blizzard said it was also going to improve the log-in system and the authentication system. Hopefully, these improvements Blizzard is promising will definitely fix the problems World of Warcraft players are experiencing. |
