This is the gold mine right here. Literally. The WoW Gold Pig blog is running a contest for 500,000 WoW Gold. We’ve gotten wind of it, thanks to tips (and tweets) from the community, and so went further to fish out more info about it through their representative, Nick Gardner. Click on full article for the complete dibs.

What to do when your event is drawing flak and your circle of supporters are leaving one by one? Try a different strategy, for one. And this is what ESA seems to be doing for next year's E3. Talks of them "going public" are circulating the Internet's grapevines. But how probable is this move? |

The launch of Blizzard's latest expansion to the World of Warcraft is drawing ever near, but before Wrath of the Lich King officially does arrive, Blizz would like to give away something to you guys first. There's a patch note coming, yes, and it's pretty smart to surmise that this will be a very good aid to bridge the two expansions. |

Unfortunately, not all of us mere mortals have super saiyan powers like Michael Phelps to go to the Olympics and win eight gold medals. But not to worry, WoWwiki is holding their very own WoWlympics right now and you don't need no Olympic-record-breaking abilities to join. Find out more about this after the jump. |

The virtual world of MMOs is proving to be a profitable investment, and
even Harvard Business School is taking notice. The Ivy League
institution recently held a panel with six of the industry's most
influential members to discuss the status quo, and just as important,
the future of the virtual realms in gaming as a business market. Check out what they deem to be the biggest barrier to overcome, and for some more analysis on how money culture is making even the virtual world go spinning 'round. |

You've seen the trailer, now it's time for some real in-game action. Jeff Green and Sean Molloy of GFW got to lay their lucky eyes on Blizzard's World of Warcraft Black Temple for a preview, and we can't help but flush green in envy.
Anyway, as it is a preview, they will obviously be more than generous in providing their two cents' worth of input on what they found interesting in the game. Or more, actually, as they will be yapping away for a full six minutes and some. However, if you're thinking this is a hands-on preview, then you're wrong. It's literally just a preview, with the guys doing the viewing. Yeah, they didn't get to have and play their own characters. Interesting to note, though, is how difficult Black Temple is deemed to be. Says Jeff Green, "You can't just be level 70 to get into Black Temple. That's not nearly good enough." And 1Up producer Kathleen Sanders probably hit the mark right when she likened it to those fancy L.A. clubs. Got your interest piqued yet? To find out more about the quirks of Black Temple, or if you wanna get even the slightest hint on how to get there, we suggest you check out their conversation by clicking on the video below. |

IDS World Expo, alongside the Worlds Series of Video Games (WSVG), announced today that they have teamed up with the Entertainment for All (E for All) Expo to host one last competitive circuit before the party flies to Europe. The E for All Edition of the WSVG circuit will have four arenas of competitive game play on various titles, including some of the world's biggest games like Blizzard's World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, Guitar Hero II (Activision), and Fight Night Round 3 (EA Sports). The event will be covered online, as well as on a one-hour TV special in November. Participants will also be able to get their hands on titles set for release come the Holidays. That's a perfect preview opportunity for you right there. Meanwhile, Mary Dolaher, CEO of IDG World Expo, has this to say about this collaboration: "By featuring the WSVG at E for All, we're able to offer fans a direct connection to the energy and excitement of gameplay at the competitive level." The E for All Edition of the WSVG Circuit has US$ 90,000 in cash prizes and a whole lot of fun in store for all. If you're interested, the event will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in downtown LA, on October 18 to 21. |
