It's not unheard of for gaming fans to collect merchandise based on their passion. In line with that, DC Unlimited will be offering a new deluxe collector figure for World of Warcraft players: the Tauren hunter known as Brave Highmountain. Apparently even Thaddeus Loenbrough of the Royal Photographic Society of Azeroth is getting into the Christmas spirit by asking the World of Warcraft community of gamers to submit their cool holiday screenshots for two special contests. Blizzard has announced the return of two of its annual screenshot contests to hail in the season of Winter Veil across the world of Azeroth.

We've got two new World of Warcraft Winter Veil updates for you guys, and they have everything to do with the goodies you'll be picking up for Christmas.

The first update has to do with the Christmas hats that are supposed to drop off bosses in Outland and Azeroth. The second one has to do with patterns you're supposed to get in the mail, and it seems not everyone got a Winter Veil recipe in the mailbox. Learn more in the full article.

Real-life epic items anyone? Team J!NX delivers to players some cool t-shirts, as well as a couple of new collectible trinkets just in time for the holiday season from Blizzard's World of Warcraft.

Now this is definitely a sweet piece of news that makes us all go, "YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!" Bowzerblack from the Livejournal World of Warcraft community linked to this sweet piece of action figure awesomeness: an Illidan Stormrage figurine, complete with massive wings and great blades.

The description for the figurine makes it even markedly more impressive:

America's No. 1 selling PC game since 2004 continues its incredible entry into the collectible action figure arena with this Illidan Deluxe Collector Figure from DC Unlimited. This figure is 6.5" tall with a wingspan of 11" - the total height of the figure is 13"!

Of course, people are going to need to be patient if they want this piece of action figure greatness. The figure is set for release on December 19, which is perfect for the Christmas season, but far too long a wait for avid collectors of Blizzard merchandise.

World of Warcraft's Burning Crusade cinematic intro was gnome-free. This injustice has not gone unnoticed, however, thanks to the efforts of Ebsz (and the magic of YouTube). Using that beautifully-designed mechanism of pure evil known as a "computer", he devised a way to create... the Gnomish Crusade cinematic intro. Check it out below.




Admittedly, this is a bit old (okay, more than a bit), but hey, it's still a good vid. The actions goes perfectly with the soundtrack, and call me a speciesist or whatever, but I find gnomes funny. I especially love the scene at the 00:43 mark, where Illidan says "And now you dare to enter my realm" and a bunch of gnomes (some in Christmas costumes, no less) come sauntering out. Gnome waddle FTW!
