Blood Legion's Furi and the Twin Blades of Azzinoth - Image 1

With everything World of Warcraft-related that's happening these days, here's something that will bring back everybody's attention to the game itself: somebody has finally completed the Twin Blades of Azzinoth.

That somebody is Blood Legion's Furi. The Warglaives that make up the set drop from Illidan Stormrage, the Twin Blades' wielder, in the Black Temple. Various guilds have downed Illidan before - Forte got the main hand Warglaive back in late June and Drama got the off-hander a couple of days ago - but this is the first time that the Twin Blades have been seen carried around by a single player.

For a look at how much the Warglaives pump a player up, click on the image up top. The screenshot was posted by Blood Legion's Shujenka on the official World of Warcraft forums.

Death and Taxes kills Illidan, first US guild to complete TBC - Image 1

And the big news in the World of Warcraft Raid scene places Death and Taxes in the limelights, after the U.S. guild finally downed Illidan Stormrage in the Black Temple instance. This new development also pens their name in history, for the guild is not just only the sixth in the world to complete The Burning Crusade content - it is also the first U.S. guild to do so.

Now even while U.S. was late in the Raid progression, they were reported to have a good share of purp drops. Some of those mentioned were the Cowl of the Illidari High Lord, Black Bow of the Betrayer, Chestguard of the Forgotten Conqueror, and Chestguard of the Forgotten Vanquisher.

The worldwide The Burning Crusade progression now stands at Nihilum at first, Forte at second, Last Resort at third, Curse at Fourth, For the Horde at fifth and Death and Taxes at sixth.

World of Warcraft Illidan loot: Skull of Gul'dan and Faceplate of the Impenetrable - Image 1Being the fifth to finish the World of Warcraft's The Burning Crusade content isn't all that bad. Not bad at all as For the Horde picked up new loot from Illidan Stormrage.

They got The Skull of Gul'dan, a trinket that's very significant to WoW lore since its what Illidan used to gain more power (and turn into a half elf, half demon) and beat Tichondrius. Anyway, the trinket is for caster use, having favorable effects on spell hit rating and damage and healing done by spells. Players can also tap into its power, as it grants an increased spell haste rating (two minute cooldown on use).

On the other hand, Forte farmed Outland's overlord and got a Faceplate of the Impenetrable. It's an epic plate that powers users up in terms of stamina, defense rating, dodge rating, shield block rating, and block value of the shield.

Another warglaive would have been nice though. Stay tuned for more WoW news and updates.

Want to see how all the big guilds get their kills? Then you're in luck. The Forte guild of Kazzak (EU) has released a new video, chronicling the guild's exploits as it defeated Illidan, the final boss of Blizzard's Black Temple instance.

Taken from the PoV of a hunter, the movie's 19 minutes long, but it does also show them picking up the legendary Warglaive of Azzinoth, one of the most powerful weapons in the game. More importantly, it shows their awesomeness, proving that Forte is a force to be reckoned with in the gaming world. In any case, enjoy the video! (The clip requires you to have the DiV/X Web Player plugin for it to play.)

World of Warcraft's Warglaive of Azzinoth - Image 1Wouldn't it be great to wield a legendary weapon? Raiders not only get the prestige of getting first world kills, they also get the bragging rights of getting to hold (or be the first ones at least) legendary weapons from the big bosses in the World of Warcraft.

Well, Forte forged into the Black Temple and slew Illidan Stormrage. Nothing really interesting since they're the third guild to have downed the Betrayer, but lo and behold one of the loots they got: the Warglaive of Azzinoth. Cool, eh? They got the main hand one and they'll need to farm the off hand to get a complete set which even cooler with the set bonuses (chance to increase haste rating via melee attacks, and gives an increase in attack power against Demons).

Celalia, Forte's rogue, was the lucky basta- er... player who got the Warglaive. Hmm... One million points of cool go to him. Anyway, stay tuned as we bring more news on Blizzard's World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft's Shard of Azzinoth - Image 1Last Resort, Horde guild on EU Kazzak, is the second guild to slay the Betrayer. So far, there are only three guilds who have successfully downed the last boss of the Black Temple, Illidan Stormrage: Nihilum, Last Resort, and Forte.

Last Resort got something else from Azzinoth - a dagger called Shard of Azzinoth. It's an epic dagger which isn't all that bad though it would've been way cooler had it been the Warglaives of Azzinoth. Along with that, they also got an epic mace (Crystal Spire of Karabor) and two Tier 6 chest tokens.

Anyway, congratulations to Last Resort for being the second guild to taste Illidan's warglaives and survived. Who will Blizzard pit against them next?

Forte, the WoW EU Kazzak guild who recently performed the world's third kill of Archimonde, was the first to release a movie of the encounter, from beleaguered beginning to victorious end. For those who don't know who Archimonde is, he's the final boss of Blizzard's Battle of Mount Hyjal instance.

The video is taken from the point of view of eoy, one of their warlocks, as the team valiantly fights to take Archimonde down. Without further ado, here's Forte with in their battle against Archimonde.

World of Warcraft world first - Forte down Anetheron - Image 1 The second boss of the Battle of Mount Hyjal instance bites the dust under the collective hands of the Forte guild. Mind you, this is the real thing and not the PTRs.

Reportedly, the Forte guild was missing two raid members during the encounter (Battle of Mount Hyjal is a 25-man raid) but still found Anetheron manageable. The dreadlord dropped a couple of shiny purple epics: the Hatefury Mantle and the Blade of Infamy.

Well, tons of practice runs on Blizzard' Public Test Realm must have helped them. Thanks to Forte, the World of Warcraft is one nasty dreadlord lighter.

The updated Tempest Keep loot picture - Image 1

Forget death touches. On the live servers, Blizzard wants you to do your own killing. It's a good thing for gaming sites like ours that some people are hardcore enough to kill the toughest baddies in the game, else we'd never be able to preview new loot for you guys.

In this case, World of Raids has compiled the spoils of victory from Tempest Keep, with these items being so new that they haven't even gone up on item databases such as WoWHead yet. With the exception of the Talon of Al'Ar, which is acquired by defeating Al'Ar the Phoenix God, the items below come from besting High Astromancer Solarian in battle.

That being said, you have to thank the guys and gals of the following guilds for being dedicated to downing big bosses: Blood Legion, Death and Taxes, Forte, For the Horde, Irae Aod, Last Resort, and Nihilum. They've done a great job with probing the depths of the game, and we thank them for being kind enough to inform the public about the sweet loot that's yet to come in the lives of many a raiding guild.

UPDATE:

There's new loot on the horizon for Al'ar and Solarian, so go have a look at the updated picture above for more information.
