Gnomeregan Gnews Gnetwork - Image 1

The Gnomeregan Gnews Gnetwork (GGG) has brought us breaking news before. Like the one about the flying mounts, with the nether drake and the drunk dwarf pilot, And the poor gnome named P. Diddymus shouting, "Healer, I need a healer!"

Wendy Breeze is back and covering the launch of The Burning Crusade. She's reporting from Fry's Electronics, and interviewed some of the people in line waiting for the midnight launch. Including the girl dressed as a Murlocs (and holding a Murlocs plushie) and another one who made a balloon creep.

The news coverage is a bit on the loony side, as is usual for GGG. It shows some character dance alike contests, featuring all the races' dance moves. It's a fun way to cap off the momentous expansion launch.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade is finally out and one of eight of Blizzard's party bashes commemorating the launch of its official expansion to WoW reeled in a 1,000-guest line over at Sunnyvale, San Francisco in Northern California. Even in the freezing cold, anxious WoW adventurers filed in as early as Sunday night, hoping to be first of many fans waiting for the launch of the Burning Crusade and the big buy-out. Blizzard representatives say that the guest turn up has been similar in the European side.

WoW developers give out their Johnny Hancocks to the many excited fansThe event finally kicked off on Monday, 11:45 p.m. with scores of fans ushered into Fry's Electronics for a chance to get their own copy of the expansion with autographs of 15 developers present at the event, including producer Shane Dabiri and art director Justin Thivrat. In addition to the original copy and the precious collector's edition of the Burning Crusade, people were also offered the WoW board game (say again?), strategy guides to Blood Elves and Draenei races, and subscription cards just to tickle the crowd's Warcraft fancies.

But wait, there's more: freebies included WoW-themed posters and stickers. Hopefully that should keep fans snug and warm for another winter or so.

BCWhen Blizzard Entertainment confirmed the other day the Burning Crusade launch party at 150 Oxford Street in London, we so want to be there. But we're stuck here, hoping to get in the mix when the much awaited World of Warcraft expansion finally arrives. So you could only imagine our excitement when a heads up came our way today.

Well, not exactly a heads up. It's more of a rumor but we're sharing it with you nonetheless. One employee from Fry's Electronics named Evan sent in this tip to game-dedicated blog WoW Insider:

Fry's Electronics in Anaheim will be hosting a Burning Crusade midnight launch event with the Blizzard team. We will open the doors at 12:01am and will have the Team from Blizzard signing autographs. This is the same type of launch in Fountain Valley Fry's a few years back, but will be held at the Anaheim one this year.

So there. We're banking that this could be semi-legit since the original WoW and Warcraft III releases also had a midnight event a few years back. But then again, we will be on the lookout for further confirmations. Tell us if you hear any, okay?
