For those photograph-savvy MMORPG gamers participating in Blizzard's highly celebrated World of Warcraft,
Thaddeus Loenbrough - esteemed Orcish photographer and Royal
Photographic Society of Azeroth (RPSA) Founder - wants your best
screenshots from the game to help promote and nurture the art of
photography throughout the world of Azeroth. This is the new promotion Blizzard has posted on its website for players who are interested on submitting original screenshots from their WoW experience. Bornakk, a Blizzard poster on the WoW forums has invited players to check out the new Screenshot Submission Form and contribute their most original screenshots for the site. This is in line with the new guides that Blizzard will be releasing in the future. Images should be in JPEG format and must be less than two MB in size. It is also recommended that any interface and chat box text is turned off. If you wish to add any chat to the screenshots, it's better to use in-game chat bubbles rather than modifying any of the content using any image editors. You can check out the list of screenshot topics that they need the most on the submissions page. Blizzard also included a list of banned topics that would make inappropriate subjects for submission. Aside from that, get that "Print Screen" trigger finger of yours ready and see if your screenshot is worthy to be included in the pages of the RPSA. Budding paparazzis can take a look at the Submission Screenshot Form through the via link below. Please read the list of banned topics for screenshot submissions after the jump! |

If you're one of those players who wants to help make Blizzard's World of Warcraft a richer experience for everybody, here's your chance! The WoW staff members are in need of more screenshots for their World of Warcraft guide. Those whose submissions will be accepted will be given their fifteen minutes of glory (i.e. inclusion in the said guide, along with their character name). Before you start spamming away submissions, take note: not just any screenshot will do. Nebu and Thaddeus Loenbrough have established certain guidelines to help both them and you distinguish between what is valid and what is not. For example, the overall focus must be on Burning Crusade dungeons, specifically Hellfire Citadel: The Shattered Halls. They particularly need screenshots that capture the dungeon's atmosphere, as well as the intensity of combat. What they don't need are screenshots of The Dark Portal, of Lady Sylvanas (especially during her song number), of polymorphed characters, or of dead characters, to name a few. Interested? Then head on over to the community section of the official World of Warcraft site, check out the submission guidelines and keep your finger on that print screen key. |

Blizzard has announced that the Burning Crusade expansion for World of Warcraft has gone live in the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. The expansion's launch in mainland China is still being prepared, and localization of the MMORPG into Simplified Chinese is currently. The Blizzard Online Store also has a couple of new items this month. First is BradyGames' official strategy guide for Burning Crusade. The strategy guide includes a lot of info on the new races and weapons found in the expansion. It also has a pretty in-depth look at the Hellfire Citadel and the Outland itself. Those looking for some tips about the new PvP system in World of Warcraft will also get the lowdown on each of the new PvP zones. The strategy guide also covers every single recipe for every crafting profession. From 1 to 400, it's all in the guide. If that's not enough for you, there are also exclusive new World of Warcraft comics from Penny Arcade included in the guide. The second new item is the Onyxia's Lair Raid Deck for the World of Warcraft TCG. The new deck comes with everything a player needs to control the iconic dragon and incinerate others into oblivion. In addition to a full Onyxia monster deck, each Raid Deck comes with Whelp tokens, oversize Onyxia hero cards, and a treasure pack with foil cards exclusive to this raid - not to mention a higher frequency of Loot cards. |

More game fixes await World of Warcraft's players as we move halfway into this week of March 19 to 25. According to Tseric, Blizzard's spokesman over at the WoW official forums, we have two hot fixes for the moment::Tuesday: Going into detail on these reports, Warbringer O'mrogg - over to your right - is the second boss in the Shattered Halls wing of the Hellfire Citadel instance. Before his hot fix (at least we think it's a "he"), Warbringer had a nasty habit of keeping his enrage status activated even after parties fighting him wiped. This proved to be a major pain for those re-attempting the instance, as enrage gave this two-headed monstrosity a major damage boost at the start of the fight. Of extra-painful note is his Burning Weapon/Blast Wave, which deals an initial 1k fire damage, followed by two consecutive Blast Waves for 2.5k-3.2k damage each. The Coilfang Ambusher, on the other hand, is a level 70 humanoid enemy that can found over at the Coilfang Reservoir instance in Zangarmarsh. There had been a reported bug about them in the Steamvault area (also withing Coilfang), though as Tseric reports, they shouldn't be too troublesome to kill post-fix. Stay posted as the week's hot fixes get updated, which may include one for Coilfang's Lady Vashj. |

This one here is on Hellfire Citadel, the former base of operations of Horde, entrenched deep in the heart of Hellfire Peninsula. Why is it relevant? Because apart from the fact that the fell orcs have used this as their breeding ground, this is one of the first few dungeons that you will have to get through in Blizzard's hit-selling Burning Crusade. Are you interested yet? Then click on the Via link below to catch the trailer for you to see what the fuss is all about, especially their three five-man wings. |

Just a couple of days ago, Blizzard poster Tigole announced that the last instance at the Hellfire Citadel, Magtheridon, was being evaluated. The reason for such is that the Blizzard's internal raiding team was able to successfully beat the boss and they felt that the encounter was properly balanced, but there have been so many issues regarding it on live servers. Players have been raising several concerns like the encounter requiring too many consumables and potions. (Not everybody has the time to farm.) Tigole added that they will be making "minor tuning adjustments" as the encounter is not supposed to be more difficult than Serpentshrine. After the announcement, Tigole came back saying that a hotfix was made to fix a bug with the Hellfire Channeler. Apparently, the Channeler's Dark Mending spell was healing "more than intended." He clarified that the hotfix was not a tuning adjustment but rather a bug fix. Interestingly after the hotfix, a Horde guild on Magtheridon EU - Nihilium - downed Magtheridon and completed the attunement quest to enter the Eye. |
