The World of Warcraft logo - Image 1Guides are usually meticulous projects that require a lot of detail, and - as in the case of Blizzard's World of Warcraft guide - screenshots. That's right, Blizzard is still in need of your WoW screenshots, but there's one very important difference this time: it's not about dungeons. More on the topic of the screenshots they need after the jump.

Or you could stick to your own mount - Image 1

Remember the cross-racial mount quest (which, unforgivably, this blogger has referred to as cross-faction mounts) in World of Warcraft where you could grab a ride on races in your same faction? Well, seeing as the quest is probably much easier when done in conjunction with faction-wide reputation quests, it wouldn't be surprising to hear that it gets difficult at times to attain.

But with the new content patch, word spread around that aims to become Exalted is no longer a "climbing Mount Everest" affair. In fact, many have been quick to say that getting to top reverence in your faction is easily attainable, especially if you complete the reputation quests in their starting areas.

But WoW Insider's Amanda Rivera revisited memory lane and found that going about the same cross-mount grind over a reputation quest using the 2.1.0 patch was a little bit harder than usual. Is it just coincidence? Or is there another undocumented change for particular rep grinds for the new patch?

But perhaps it's simply a different experience when going about Blizzard's Children's Week (a World of Warcraft event) instead of the old Lunar Festival rep grind, although both still have the full optimal ability to get you on one of your faction's good side. Nabbing a ride for a particular race in your own faction shouldn't be hard. Nabbing a ride in each race in your faction is another story, though.

World of Warcraft - goffchick's level 40 Night Elf on a Dwarf-only White Ram. - Image 1Only if you can pull the right reputation rises across factions, then you, too, can get your World of Warcraft avatar on a mount of the opposite faction. Although this is only for the really basic mounts, you can actually succeed in getting a Dwarf mount for your Night Elf once you get to the Exalted level of reputation with the Dwarves. Yes, we know Tauren can cross-mount a couple of rides.

It's not exactly algebra, but it's no easy task to accomplish either. Only through the Lunar Festival did goffchick get her Night Elf hunter on the saddle of a White Ram.

Okay, it's no Unicorn or a gallant steed, but you have to admit, it is pretty wicked. The event, which went on from February 16 to March 7 (yes it's done, so you can cry about it later), allowed players to be able to speak with the Lunar Festival elders.

Every time you do succeed, each concluded conversation pumps up your rep around 75 points for each faction and the entire union to which that faction belongs. If you've been at work kissing up to other factions regardless of your current racial affiliations, you could top their "goodie-goodie" list at around level 40 to 50, just about the right time to be strutting your ram around Dwarves before wanting an Epic mount by 60.

Some people have focused on grabbing another non-racial, non-faction mount at around 40 and grabbed an Undead Skeletal Horse by level 46. So are you Exalted by any other faction than your own? Then why not hike up your riding training and grab their mount today? We know you'll like it. (And yes, we were lurking around the ladies' blog...but don't tell anyone that!)

Calendar Mishaps - Image 1

The Lunar Festival is a yearly celebration in the World of Warcraft - parallel to a real world celebration. The celebration started February 16 and supposed to end March 8, or atleast that's what's indicated on the WoW calendar of events.

Some players were surprised to see that the Lunar Festival had supposedly ended yesterday, one full day before the indicated date. Fetlock from the WoW Europe Forums pointed it out, complaining that he was hoping to join the event on the last day. The seasonal event gave players free transpo to every major city and as a result also free exp.

Blizzard poster Ommra explained that the Lunar Festival actually lasts on 19 days so counting from February 16 - that makes the event close on March 7. Apparently, there had been a mistake on the calendar and Ommra assured that they will make sure to check it after this incident.
