It's been three months (more or less) since you've been blessed with Blizzard's Future Beta Key after attending 2007's BlizzCon, and you've probably been wondering when this special blessing would finally go to good use. Moreover, you've probably also wondered what game the key entitles you to participate in.You're definitely not alone. Zasranitz of Korgath inquired about the beta key's purpose. What the participants got as a reply, jokes aside, was as clouded as in-game fog. Seriously. |

The goodie bags handed out at this year's BlizzCon contained a lot of excellent and curious things. One of which is a beta key for an unnamed Blizzard project. Now, World of Warcraft players are currently discussing at the official WoW Forums what exactly these keys are for. Blizzard forum moderator Nethaera mentioned that it is still undetermined as of now what specific project the beta keys can be used. We should take note that a lot of players used to believe that it is going to be for StarCraft II as it was the only newly announced Blizzard game as of that time. Now that the Wrath of the Lich King has been revealed, it is also possible and highly probable that the keys are for the new WoW expansion. Regardless if it's for SC II or WoW: WotLK, Nethaera reminded everyone that those who don't have the beta keys shouldn't worry. The blue poster explained: Please don't forget that the BlizzCon beta keys represent a very small portion of our beta community when it's time for a beta. We take players from various sources when it's time for beta so that as many people as we feel necessary are given the opportunity to help us test. But guys the question remains: Are the beta keys for StarCraft II or for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King? Or could it be for an entirely new project that hasn't been announced yet? You can tell us what you think through the comment section below. |

We know a lot of people (about nine million, give or take a couple of thousand) are waiting for news about the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, the Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK). Well, we know who gets to visit Northrend first: the beta testers. Blazith from the WoW Europe Forums expressed what you probably are or aren't hoping - which one you are depends on whether or not you were a beta tester for The Burning Crusade. The player hoped that those who tested TBC will be chosen to test WotLK too. Blizzard poster Aeus came by the said thread and posted a reply, "I haven't heard of or seen a plan yet, but I don't think we'll base the next beta key give aways on the previous ones." Will we need to go through a number of contests again? That isn't going to be pretty. Anyway, we'll keep a close eye on those WoW: Wrath of the Lich King beta keys when they become available. |

Blizzcon attendees will have to pay admission fees, but that's not such a big deal if you're really looking to get your fill of Blizzard gear. Everyone who's anyone in the Blizzard fold will be there, so don't miss your chance to be there. The murloc suit pieces are shown above. Blizzard is still mum on the subject of the game beta, but we have all the right reasons to hope that it's Starcraft 2. We've been waiting for 10 painstaking years for a sequel and we'll devour one immediately when we get our hands on it. |

So, you want to start playing WoW The Burning Crusade and be the envy of all your friends, but can't wait for its release in January? That's okay, since WoWHead may just have the solution for you as they will be giving away a hundred beta keys for the Burning Crusade, and a 20" Widescreen LCD monitor to boot. The contest will run from December 5 at 12:01 AM (EST), and on that day and every day for the next two weeks, they will be giving away seven beta keys. The lucky winners will have their usernames highlighted on the WowHead website and at the end of the promo period, one of these winners will also get to take home the monitor. So what exactly does one have to do in order to win the said prizes?

For the guys who'd really, really like to get their hands on a WoW BC Beta key without the messy complications of stuffing a Blizzard dev into their car, driving to the local high-rise, and dangling the said dev by their toes over the roof edge until they gave one (You didn't hear that from us), we've just picked up news on an event that could make this easier for you.The IncGamers IRC network has just announced that starting November 27, Monday, until Saturday, Dec. 2, they're going to be giving out free BC Beta key accounts to every 18 minutes at their IRC chatroom, and the winners will be chosen randomly via raffle event. To join the event, take note of the following steps, as stated over at the source link. Now, for those who might miss out on this event, there's gonna be another in-game event that will be taking place on December 3, Sunday and December 4, Monday. The events will organized within the IRC channel, and will give you guys a chance to win a further 100 more BC Beta Keys. Details will be coming out soon. For now, we recommend you read the source link. |

So. News has just reached our ears that Blizzard, in collaboration with Eurogamer, will be giving out 100 World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade closed beta keys.Psyched? Well you should be! Because with this key, you'll be able to access high-level content, two new races (Blood Elves and Dranei), and tons more stuff that you otherwise wouldn't be able to get your filthy WoW-addicted hands on, hehe. Oh, and add to that the fact that you'll be getting this two months before the expansion hits the shelves on January, damn right you'd better be psyched baybee! All you have to do is head on to the Eurogamer site and answer this very simple question: "Which of the following Blizzard games is World of Warcraft based on?" If you have no idea, don't worry 'cuz there are choices given so you never know, you might just get lucky. Aaaand now, for the rules (or Eurogamer's version of it):
