Jim Lee to grace BlizzCon 2007 - Image 1BlizzCon 2007 is already exciting as it is given all the details and information we know about it so far. In an interesting development, we learned today that the famed event is about to become more important as it will be graced by the presence of legendary comic book artist Jim Lee.

Lee has worked with both Marvel Comics and DC Comics and his most notable creations include X-Men, Punisher, Superman and even the Dark Knight himself, Batman. In case you don't know, he also did the cover for the recently announced World of Warcraft comic book - hence his presence at BlizzCon.

If you want to catch him, be sure to be at the DC booth on August 3 between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. He will be happy to chat with attendees as well as sign autographs. BlizzCon 2007 will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.

Bigfoot giving away Killer NIC at BlizzCon 2007 - Image 1Bigfoot Networks announced today that it will be making an appearance during BlizzCon 2007 when it happens at the Anaheim Convention Center in California between August 3 and 4.

The good thing about this is that the company will be giving away Killer NIC network cards for fans who will be passing its booth. We guess you're quite familiar now what's the deal with Killer NIC.

If you're not, then we're pretty sure that you have two major problems - namely lag and latency. Bigfoot created Killer NIC with Blizzard's World of Warcraft in mind, implementing Lag and Latency Reduction Technology for a better gaming experience.

"World of Warcraft and the Killer NIC make a great combo. It is the huge demand for the Killer NIC by WoW gamers that brings us to BlizzCon. The fact Blizzard only allows ten companies to be sponsors of BlizzCon shows how much they believe in the power of the Killer NIC and what it delivers for games like World of Warcraft," commented Bigfoot Networks CEO Harlan Beverly.

The above mentioned companies include Intel, nVIDIA, AT&T, Dell, Logitech, Creative, and Cisco among others. Bigfoot's booth number at Blizzcon is S101.

BlizzCon is set to be one of the biggest events to hit the worlds of Warcraft and Starcraft, with 8,000 attending the last BlizzCon and tickets for this one already sold out. Held for two days on August 3 and 4 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, the event will be holding contests and tournaments, including a dance, song, and fan art contest.

Now if you managed to get your hands an a ticket, remember that that's gonna be a big place and you're gonna want to have time for everything there is to do out there. Here's a couple of helpful tips from Blizzard to help you on your way to getting your way:
  • Get your badges early at the pick-up stations on Thursday, the day before the event, between 4pm and 11pm or on Friday starting at 7am
  • Prepare a loose schedule that gives you ample time to do everything you want given the limited amount of time you got
  • Live events will have buttloads of people attending them: go early or get smushed
  • Bring a bag, and bring the essentials (plus they give out goodie bags when you pick up your badge so make room for that)
  • Remember there are stuff you can't bring inside BlizzCon, so check with the website first
  • Check the size of your bag: you can only bring one that's not bigger than 20 inches x 10 inches
  • The BlizzCon store empties out rather quickly so get them while they're hot
  • Lines for games will be longest in the afternoons so try to line up for them in the morning so you don't waste your time waiting
  • There are special places reserved for in-game friends to see each other on the second level, rooms 202 and 203 so be sure to visit
  • Remember that Anaheim Convention Center is right beside Disneyland, you might want to take a visit as well before or after the show, especially if you're from out of town
That's it everyone, have a great time at BlizzCon! Stay tuned for further updates.

Win an all-expense paid trip to Blizzcon 2007 for your 3 man WoW team - Image 1For those who want to attend this year's Blizzcon but are finding their wallets a bit too thin to support the trip, here's some good news for you.

The World Series of Video Games (WSVG) will be sponsoring one team from the World of Warcraft 3v3 Arena competition which will be held in Dallas, Texas this July 5 to 8 on an all-expense paid trip to Blizzcon 2007.

Take note that the team will be selected at random from all the participants. That means even if you don't place in the tournament, you might be selected to go. The winner of the said contest will be announced on July 8 at 4:30 p.m.

Since the competition will take place in Dallas, the above mentioned time schedule should be for that location as well. Anyway, you don't have to do anything extra to join this giveaway except to sign-up in the event because teams will be automatically entered into the drawing upon check-in.

Like we said, the prize covers three all-expense paid trips and admissions to Blizzcon 2007 which will be held on August 3 to 4 in Anaheim, California. So, if you want a shot at going to Blizzcon for free, why not drop by the tournament and sign-up.

Who knows, you might be heading to Blizzcon for free even if you placed last. Please refer to our Read link below for more details and for the sign up page.

BlizzCon tickets are running out - Image 1Looks like Drysc is right on the money. Just a few hours after letting the World of Warcraft community know that there were still ample supplies of the BlizzCon event's coveted admission tickets, the Blizzard rep dropped by the WoW Forums once again to let everybody know how the sales were going:

Approximately half the available tickets for BlizzCon 2007 have been sold in the first 24 hours, and they're continuing to go rapidly. If you plan to attend, we recommend getting your tickets quickly, as they are likely to sell out soon. We thank you for your enthusiasm, and look forward to seeing all of you in Anaheim, California on August 3 and 4.

Like the rep said - guys interested in making it to one of Blizzard's biggest events for this year may want to have their US$ 100.00 ready. The BlizzCon site should be your next step for your purchase.

BlizzCon ticket icon - Image 1With all the excitement that's been engulfing the fans regarding the TBA goodies that will be revealed come BlizzCon, we just remembered something: how much will it take to get into the event?

The official BlizzCon site has just announced that they're now selling tickets, priced at US$ 100.00 per pop, at a maximum of 5 tickets per billing address - we're assuming that last detail's a countermeasure for hoarders and scalpers.

No refunds will be available come ticket purchase, with the BlizzCon event permitting entry only to people aged 4 and above - see if you can find somebody to babysit your zergling(s) while you're at the festivities.

Just remember - The BlizzCon event is expected to take place this August 3 to 4, at the Anaheim Convention Center, 800 West Katella Avenue, Anaheim, California. Sure, 100 greenbacks does seem to be a steep price, but if it means a chance at seeing Kerrigan again...why not?

World of Warcraft cosplayer - Night Elf - Image 1 For those avid World of Warcraft role players or just role players in general, the Renaissance Faire might be a good place to visit.

Renaissance Entertainment Corporation hosts a variety of events in different locations in North America. As the name suggests, the Renaissance Faire is a medieval-themed event that features a market, sword wielding displays, performing troupes, and maybe a joust or two. They are currently also offering a 20% discount for tickets on the first one - Renaissance Pleasure Faire to be held in SoCal - for World of Warcraft players.

Interested? Hop over to the Renaissance Faire site by clicking the via link below. Grab the chain mail, sword, and a damsel in distress, and you're good to go. It may be a nice primer for World of Warcraft players waiting for Blizzcon.

BlizzCon 2007 FAQ is now up - Image 1Alright, now that PC World's Top 4 Web influence announced that BlizzCon 2007 isn't cancelled, you're probably have been curious as to what you're going to get for your US$ 100 entrance fee.

Given that you weren't alone in that matter, Big Blue just went straight ahead and sneaked a FAQ in right before people flooded the World of Warcraft forums with paraphrased versions of that same question.

The FAQ mentions that you can and will be receiving a BlizzCon badge for your 100 smackeroos spent.

These badges, when flashed at the BlizzBouncer mobs, will drop their aggro levels to -1 and leave you to explore the World of BlizzCon to your delight. You will also be getting a goody bag "containing exclusive swag!" And no, it doesn't include the Consortium Gems you've been waiting for.

But what about the other six million WoW-heads who aren't from the U.S. (let alone coming from Anaheim, California)? Well if you zip off to the same BlizzCon ticket sale site like the American attendees-to-be are doing, then you can also purchase a ticket and zip off to BlizzCon smack dab in the middle of QuakeCon season.

While there are nearby hotels who have provided special rooms reserved for BlizzCon attendees, StarCraft, Diablo Series">Blizzard will not be responsible for walking you to the event. But if you've got 5000 gold to spare, you could opt for a flying mount to breeze your way over the heavy traffic below. And no, we're not asking you to get mounted for it.

Because the world misses Sarah Kerrigan - Image 1They will, however, tell you how you could get rooms for cheap and price tags on shuttle rentals on the BlizzCon website very soon. Plus, even the youngest of Blizzard fans can attend the event, starting from four years old onwards. So as long as they can walk, beat a Hard AI opponent as Protoss in 15 minutes, and come with father and mother figures, kids are allowed to attend.

But kids will have to cough up 100 bucks, too, if they wanted to attend, even if they can't bring their trusty Epic mount...stroller with them to navigate the BlizzCon dungeon.

And as a favor to other BlizzFans that won't be making it to the event: don't let Big Blue leave without stating a definite date for Starcraft: Ghost and Starcraft 2. Please? The world really misses Sarah Kerrigan and Nova.
