Games sometimes allude to or make direct references to other games either as a plug or as a way of paying homage to the other game. Blizzard's World of Warcraft is no different. This time, the game that World of Warcraft referred to was none other than Capcom's Street Fighter 2.See the actual reference after the jump! |

Definitely upping the ante for the in-game content providing firm, Double Fusion is now upgrading their senior levels with game industry marketing veterans from all fronts: consoles, PCs and even MMOs. Still pending as to which company this dynamic ad content provider will be merging with, as least now they have Directors worth the company's reputation.
According to an official press release, Euro-based Double Fusion has appointed Daniel Best, Europe">David Miller and Itzik Ben Bassat to positions in the senior European management team. Daniel Best, former Online Commercial Manager of The Independent, is now the Sales Director for the European front. As former Director of Brand Marketing for SEGA Europe, David Miller will now be heading the Director position of Business Development and Marketing in Europe. He has also worked for Capcom, Electronic Arts and Virgin. But perhaps most out-worldly of appointments was Itzik Ben Bassat, who is best known for being a part of Vivendi's image upgrade of Blizzard Entertainment. Surprisingly, Ben Bassat was considered "the architect" behind World of Warcraft's success internationally, and also responsible for upgrading Big Blue from a simple games development studio to a company focused on online entertainment. If you wanted someone to blame for the lack of focus on Starcraft 2 and Starcraft: Ghost, now you've got a name. It looks like the titles that Double Fusion touches are sure to sport lots of in-game ads for sure. This news is almost enough to make us wonder, how would PlayStation Home look if Double Fusion got the "go signal" from Sony? Downtown Tokyo? *shudder* |

So with all the Burning Crusade bashes and launching and hypes all in the past now, World of Warcraft's expansion set runs out of gas. Number one last week, number 5 now; Vivendi SA is a video game developer; formerly known as Vivendi Universal">Vivendi's World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade is now replaced by Capcom's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (must be an extremely cold condition) at the top spot. Capcom's Dead Rising held the title for being the game which sat at the top of the charts last year, staying firm at number one for a full week last year. It won't be a surprise if another Capcom game in the form of Lost Planet does so now. With a 13% drop in unit stocks and 16% drop in per unit value, software sales are suffering as of late. Handhelds are the only ones who have been steadily climbing, in both value and units. So with WoW sitting idly at number five, it watches FIFA 07 nest at the number two spot and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 tails behind at number three. Who's at four? Well, it's none other than Wii Play, which came in all the way from number 11 last week! |

A new week, a new line-up of games. Check out the list for this week, as it's probably more "varied" than the number of colors that Dennis Rodman's hair comes in.Topping the list as probably the most-anticipated in the bunch is the WoW: Burning Crusade expansion pack. The Outland is going to be opened via the Dark Portal, so better prepare yourself for an MMO-spree (and sleepless nights) for the next couple of weeks after this. Phoenix Wright: Justice for All is also bound to sweep the jury as the dramatic lawyer simulation would get some hard-hitting sales figures on the DS charts. As for the ballers, NCAA March Madness 07 is also coming out this week, so maybe it would be a good time to finally put the demo to rest and get the game itself already. Others on the list include:
