Human Priest as seen in Blizzard's World of Warcraft MMORPG - Image 1When Bornakk announced yesterday that the new hotfix will include a reduced number of AFK reports that can be issued in a given Battleground the news was received with a lot of heat. Members from the World of Warcraft forums have expressed a lot of violent reactions to the new update and are looking to Blizzard for a more permanent solution on the long-contested AFK issue.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade - Image 1 Here's another quick hotfix in the World of Warcraft that may or may not affect your gameplay. The vendors on boats and zeppelins were added back in patch 2.3.0 but they are now getting kicked out with the said hotfix.

Find out what Salthem had to say on the WoW Europe Forums at the full article.

World of Warcraft - Illidan Stormrage - Image 1

We found a fairly interesting subject on this trip to the World of Warcraft Forums: the Illidan Stormrage instance. Some players were concerned about the Enrage timer that caused most guilds to wipe - those who don't have enough damage per second (DPS) to beat the berserk timer which currently stands at fifteen minutes.

Sixteen pages into the thread, Blizzard poster Tigole acknowledged the problem saying that the issue was being looked at. Players swarmed and asked about what the devs have been busy doing. Tigole explained that they are backlogged in patches because patch 2.2 got held up on the PTR. He also gave an ETA for patch 2.3 or Zul'Aman - first week of October. Hopefully, Blizzard will be able to stick with the ETA.

And another thing to be happy about, here's Daelo's announcement:

Ok, we're in the process of deploying a hotfix that will change Illidan's berserk timer to 25 minutes. I'll make a post when our server people tell me it's been deployed to the realms. We're also looking into what went wrong in our processes that led us to the 15 minute timer suddenly appearing.

How's that for prompt? (You can check out the entire post by Daelo by clicking the via link below.) Certainly, Illidan will be more manageable once the hotfix goes live. Stay tuned for more WoW news.

World of Warcraft - Shaman and Windfury Totem - Image 1 We've got another hotfix from the World of Warcraft Forums that might make or break your day. Blizzard poster Nethaera posted an announcement concerning a change on the Shaman's Windfury Totem.

According to the poster, "Windfury Totem will no longer trigger for any 'yellow' attacks unless they are on next swing attacks, such as Heroic Strike and Cleave". Yellow attacks, or melee special attacks, include next-on-swing attacks and instant attacks. Basically, the hotfix eliminated the possibility for melee players to deal instant yellow attacks (Overpower and Backstab) when the Windfury Totem is in effect.

Well, the hotfix definitely hit warriors and rogues exactly where it hurts. We'll be keeping an eye out for more on this and other World of Warcraft news so stay tuned.

Tier 2 and 3 Arena Vendors now available courtesy of hotfix - Image 1

The Tier Two and Three vendors in the WoW Arena have been missing for some time now. Thankfully, the guys at Blizzard implemented a hotfix that should make them available again. Yes, that means you'll be able to purchase some more gear for your characters.

This announcement was made by Blizzard Poster/ Forum Moderator Vaneras on the WoW Europe Forums. It was said that the Arena Season 2 vendors will always be available via hotfix when the realm restarts. The operative word here is "always". It would really be great if these guys are consistently there so we don't have to go to all the trouble of saving up just to find the vendor is missing once again.

Players! Go forth and pick up some new gear. After slaving away in the Arena, you deserve it. Keep checking back here for the latest updates on World of Warcraft.

WoW - Image 1

Blizzard poster Ommra has added a new hotfix to the list of latest hotfixes found on the official European World of Warcraft forums.

This particular hotfix makes it easier for WoW players to get a Mystic Dawnstone for themselves as a jewelcrafting recipe for the item can now be bought from vendors in Halaa. The Mystic Dawnstone recipe used to have an incredibly long respawn time, so this hotfix should be a welcome addition.

As for the Mystic Dawnstone itself, it's a rare quality gem that can be put into a yellow socket and gives a ten-point boost to a character's Resilience, raising a character's defense against critical hits.

Unstable Affliction now unremovable through the PvP Trinket courtesy of a Hotfix - Image 1

Those who have been abusing the PvP Trinket in removing Unstable Affliction in World of Warcraft can no longer do so as a hotfix has been applied preventing such move. For those who haven't seen Unstable Affliction, it's one of the most painful DoTs in the game. What makes it particularly damaging is the fact that if it is dispelled, it will deal a certain amount of hits to the dispeller. If the character was heavily damaged already, this could actually kill it.

Blizzard Poster/Moderator Vaneras confirms this on the Europe WoW Forums saying that "A hot fix has been applied. Unstable affliction cannot be removed by using Horde or Alliance PvP medallion trinkets." This is contrary to the original post where he said the problem would be fixed in the next patch.

It's very good that Blizzard decided to hotfix this and we didn't have to wait for a patch to correct it. If they didn't do this, quite a few Shadow Warlocks in PvP would have had to respec their characters and get new equips since it nerfs the class so horribly.

World of Warcraft logo - Image 1A few hours ago, we reported on the recent hotfixes that have been (or will be) implemented for World of Warcraft's realms in North America from May 21 to May 27.

As a follow-up to that report, we're reporting that WoW Europe's official forums has been updated with their very own tentative hotfix list (posted by Ommra), with the latest tweaks including an update to Gruul's bugged hateful strike attack:
  • 24/05:
    • Linking a Poison Recipe or Hunter Pet Ability in a chat message will no longer cause a disconnect.
    • Seer Olum will no longer despawn as quickly after being rescued from Serpentshrine Cavern.
    • Coilfang Ambushers can no longer be charmed.
    • The Lurker Below will no longer emerge from the water before all adds are dead.
    • Gruul's hateful strike will now target the second highest on the threat list instead of the third highest.
    • The gem vendors in Thrallmar and Honor hold are now once again available.
  • 23/05:
    • Al’ar’s Meteor ability will now do less damage and its damage will no longer be divided between multiple targets.
    • We're working on a hotfix for the problem where Krosh Firehand's Spell Shield is not cast immediately upon entering combat for a Mage to Spell Steal. This was not an intended change and we hope to have it fixed soon.
    • The hotfix for the Spell Shield has been deployed. The Spell Shield should be cast in a much more timely manner now.
  • 18/05:
    • Troll bosses for the Edge of Madness in Zul'Gurub will now spawn properly.
    • An exploitable chest has been removed in Arcatraz.
Guys interested in catching up on fixes from further back are advised to visit the source link. That's the latest we've got on the game - stay tuned as more bugs are found and eliminated.

Krosh Firehand's Spell Shield hotfix for Gruul's Lair instance - Image 1Gruul's Lair in Blizzard's World of Warcraft is a weird but fun instance. Taking down Krosh Firehand is one case where the Mage actually tanks for the party as everyone tries to take him down.

However, there's a slight problem that has to be fixed: Krosh Firehand's Spell Shield isn't cast as soon as the encounter begins. Thus the Mages have nothing to spell steal and have been dying more often than usual.

Lead encounter designer Daelo saw fit to reply to this personally. He gave word that they were working on a hotfix for the said instance and that the lack of casting was not intended. The hotfix has already been deployed so players can expect Krosh Firehand to be putting up his shield sooner than later.

Strangely enough, the community has been divided about this problem. Some are saying that it's working OK with the bug, while others say that it became too easy. Still others have said that they should change it back. Well, you can't please everyone right? Be sure to check back here for more news and updates on World of Warcraft.
