Time to take a break and have some measure of fun, courtesy of the Rogues in World of Warcraft's European forums. Forum member Teetink has started a threat called "The CloS Nerf Thread Guide" (TCNTG for short) that gives a few pointers for anyone who wants to post their very own nerf thread for Cloak of Shadows.

The guide starts thus:

Always start off with: "This is not another nerf or whine thread, but…"

It also suggests the use of proper in-game terms.

Explain in detail to the rogue community how they beat you, it increases the credibility. If you do not know how to play a rogue just use random "roguish" words or abbreviations.

Example: "He stunlocked me with SAP and kidney shot while relentlessly back-stabbing me. Finally he used his IWIN-button and that was really what killed me."

The guide also champions being pro-active.

Be part of the solution! Suggest changes to the ability and while at it, suggest some other changes too. As we all know, the rogue forum is the right place to do it, where else? Note: Do not use the word nerf, but neutral words such as change or balance.

And finally, to bring everything full circle, the guide ends like this:

Finish off where you started, it creates continuity. "So as you see, this is not another CloS nerf thread, but rather..."
