The Priest - Image 1

Blizzard Poster Nethaera opened a thread in the World of Warcraft Forums entitled Test Realm and Feedback. The thread was created with the intention of providing Forum members a means of voicing their concerns and feelings toward the recent priest nerf in a constructive way.

He says that yes, he is aware that at the moment it looks like all priests have received so far are nerfs, and he reassures that Circle of healing is being looked at for better utility. He adds that Lightwell MAY be looked at, however he can't promise anything on that front. Anyway, the point of the thread is so that he will be able to gather the feedback and relay it to the rest of the Blizzard team.

He reassures that he'll do his best to continue to give feedback to the developers and make sure that they are made aware of how the community feels. He says that he understands that the community may be generally angry at the moment, but he will continue doing his duties and carry the community message to the development team.

WoW goldWe need your help with this one, guys. This includes World of Warcraft, the latest patch Before the Storm and players from the other side of the world...literally. Apparently, non-American players have been enjoying a "golden glitch" for days now. The odd thing is that the exploit first appeared after the patch went live for U.S. and Europe.

The following explanation is from Chinese sources, so pardon the translation. At any rate, here's how the bug works:

When two accounts transferring gold, one account deliver all gold to other and then log off, if this account access again, the incredible is gold still exist in, definitely, the other account get the same amount of gold easily by reproducing. The mount of gold will be increased indefinitely with this way again and again.

On a much simpler explanation, players use the bug, then they get booted out. They go back, trade in the gold to put it in their inventory and find gold again on the same location. A simple math will tell you that these players earned more than 120 golds in just under eight minutes.

There are other reports that the bug has now been stopped with Blizzard Entertainment banning addresses the other day. But there is no telling when such exploits will again arise. The illegal gold were spread all over the world (bug users are sharing their "fortune" with other players) and that seriously crushed the game's gold balance.

Blizzard has already mentioned that the matter is already under control. But we are still quite anxious. These things, logically, happen after a patch or an expansion comes out. We wonder what happens finally when The Burning Crusade is released. We definitely don't want to see WoW destroyed because of petty things like this.

DruidGame developers usually perform nerfing to games' expansions. While patches are released every now and then, the big and experience-changing ones are found in the expansion sets and these things sometimes make or break a sequel. As we are all aware, The Burning Crusade is to be released by January and it is not spared from the same fate.

Most nerfs done in the beta servers did get the thumbs up and will be implemented to TBC. The thing here now is that a good number of players don't approve of the changes. A lot of flaming is reportedly going on in Blizzard's official forums and discussions regarding the matter.

We're listing now the changes (compiled by WoW Insider) that created the loudest ruckus among fans. While it could be possible that the outrage is nothing more but a hard parting with the familiar, there could be valid reasons to ask if the following changes are deserved or necessary.

  • Warriors got a big change to rage generation that, as far as I can tell (there's a lot of math involved) gave a nerf to anyone carrying around a two hander. Rage was normalized, especially on crits, so people are reporting from 3-4 to up to 10 less points of rage per crit damage. Of course, as gear gets better, so will rage generation, but the warriors aren't thrilled.
Check out all the controversial changes after the jump!

WoW TCWhile I was growing up, I enjoyed buying cereals and chocolate bars that offer hidden toys inside. To be quite frank about it, we could have saved some money if I just bought those items instead of getting those boxes 'n boxes of sugar oats. Now that I'm older, looking back at those days give me a sense of nostalgia. I could look at my age-worn trinkets and say "I looked hard for this. I earned it, I deserve it."

Now, the same may be can be felt regarding the World of Warcraft collectible trading cards. We told you earlier this month that card packages would contain special loots like a tabard, a turtle mount and a non-combat pet. Those who, by perchance, would buy non-winning packages need not fret. A pack of cards always contain special "UDE Points" card worth 100 points. Stack up on these points and they can actually be traded for in-game items.

Blizzard, furthermore, came out today with the conversion rates for these. The first trinket allows players to put up a fireworks display. Now don't go thinking these fireworks can deal damage to enemies. This is just for showing off. Players who would want this must first earn a total of 20,000 UDE points.

There's one another available, one much flashy but of course, higher in value. The Ogre Mage trinket allows players to, well, change into Ogre Mages. It is tagged at 50,000 UDE Points. We know it would take a while for anyone to earn this. But then again, that childlike, happy feeling comes creeping back again and we can't help it but head to the nearest card store ourselves.
