TBC - Image 1The launch of the World of Warcraft Expansion, The Burning Crusade was deemed successful. The San Francisco launch was all fired up and UK launch was surprisingly a hit. Now that almost one week had passed since it was first unleashed in store shelves, you may think that the clamor for TBC has already simmered. Well, apparently that's not the case.

In fact, a local Wal-Mart in the city of Lompoc, California mentioned that the game was sold out the day it came in. Wal-Mart employee, Eddie Polton said that "the box set was $69.96. It was gone in three hours."

The usual, garden-variety TBC which has a US$ 39.99 price tag, on the other hand, was also wiped out later that afternoon. For now, they are still awaiting for the arrival of the next ordered shipment.

Yup, people are loving their TBC, regardless if they are members of the Alliance or the Horde. WoW players' feeling toward it was best explained by a TBC buyer, he says:

You really have to get "The Burning Crusade." If you're not going to keep up with the upgrades, then there's no sense in playing in the first place.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade is finally out and one of eight of Blizzard's party bashes commemorating the launch of its official expansion to WoW reeled in a 1,000-guest line over at Sunnyvale, San Francisco in Northern California. Even in the freezing cold, anxious WoW adventurers filed in as early as Sunday night, hoping to be first of many fans waiting for the launch of the Burning Crusade and the big buy-out. Blizzard representatives say that the guest turn up has been similar in the European side.

WoW developers give out their Johnny Hancocks to the many excited fansThe event finally kicked off on Monday, 11:45 p.m. with scores of fans ushered into Fry's Electronics for a chance to get their own copy of the expansion with autographs of 15 developers present at the event, including producer Shane Dabiri and art director Justin Thivrat. In addition to the original copy and the precious collector's edition of the Burning Crusade, people were also offered the WoW board game (say again?), strategy guides to Blood Elves and Draenei races, and subscription cards just to tickle the crowd's Warcraft fancies.

But wait, there's more: freebies included WoW-themed posters and stickers. Hopefully that should keep fans snug and warm for another winter or so.
