Elementium Guild is looking for 3 to 4 Warlocks - Image 1

Another end-game Raid group is calling for new members, because, to put it simply, they want more. Elementium has about four slots max open for skilled Raid Warlocks. You'd better be decked out and spec'ed right, because like the past guilds, Elementium is not entertaining slackers.

Expect the usual requirements: voice communication, good Net connection, and powerful computer, among others, to be part of their application mandate. You'll have to hop over to their main site, however, because they only accept applications in the Applications section of their main site Forums.

Elementium wants more. So LOLcat calls for moar. - Image 1This guild also caters mostly to those players located at the other side of the globe, as they do their Raids at approximately 8 p.m., Singapore, Perth timezone (GMT +8). That's around 3 a.m. server time, folks. Pre-requirements include:
  • MC Attunement is now a pre-requirement to join.
  • Onyxia Key quest is now a pre-requirement to join.
  • Blackwing Lair Attunement is now a pre-requirement to join.
  • Naxxramas Attunement is now a pre-requirement to join.
But beware, Elementium is situated on the BlackRock realm, a PvP realm. We repeat that: Elementium is on a PvP realm, so if you know you can't jump ship to gank central, you wouldn't have to hop on over to their Forums at all. If you're brave enough, you can click the "Read" link below and check out the requirements. We'll take you straight to the Application Form thread just in case you could get lost.

WoW logoBlizzard Entertainment is proud to announce that they have exceeded the 8-million user mark with their hit game World of Warcraft. And who wouldn't be, right? Eight frikkin' million!

And not just that, the game has also achieved regional milestones with more than 3.5 million users in China, more than 1.5 million in Europe, and more than 2 million WoW players in North America.

Just so you can get a gauge of just how BIG the World of Warcraft is, the game is currently available in seven different languages and remains as one of the most-played MMORPGs in North America, Europe, Korea, Australia, China, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Timbucktoo.

Okay I'm kidding about the last one, but we won't be surprised if we someday find out that the Warcraft phenomenon has reached even the farthest corners of the earth. And with the Burning Crusade's upcoming midnight launch (to be kicked off by a fancy global party), Blizzard would only be seeing more $$$ in the weeks and months to come. So what can we say about this? Nothing but a big warm congratulations to Blizzard for keeping WoW's fire burning. Stay tuned for more WoW updates.

Around the central area of Stranglethorn Vale lies Gurubashi Arena; here, some of the most intense combat found in the Eastern Kingdoms happen. It's a PvP area where every player not in the player's party can attack and be attacked. Every 3 hours, its grounds are blanketed further by blood of fallen warriors the pirate "Short" John Mithril places a chest in the middle of the arena.

Gurubashi GoldThis very environment is what inspired Bigfoot Networks for its latest competition. We quote their open challenge: "We're looking for some belligerent adventurers to let their artistic fury fly by taking screenshots of themselves doing what they do best, vanquishing their foes!" That means creating carnage, spilling blood then taking some photo opportunities. Of course, the most merciless and without heart wins the competition.

To the victor goes the spoils, says an old adage. Well, we say indeed. The grand prize winner will receive a package consisting of 2 Gurubashi Gold Coins (real collector's item 24k gold coins engraved with the World of Warcraft logo) which translates roughly to $ 1,000, a Killer t-shirt, and a network card with an approximate retail value of $ 279.00. The complete set of rules and prizes can be accessed here.

Winners will be chosen on October 22 and will all be notified through e-mail. The competition is open to all 13 years old and above and active subscribers in select locations (U.S.A., Australia, Canada but not Quebec, New Zealand and Singapore).

square enixSoftware distributor Soft-World International, the largest in the Chinese market, has filed a lawsuit worth US$3.78 against popular games-maker Square-Enix. Demanding the return of a royalty payment, Soft-World alleges that Square-Enix failed to fulfill its obligation as stipulated in a 2004 contract regarding the distribution of one of the latter's MMORPGs in Taiwan, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

According to the contract, Square-Enix was supposed to supply the company with the relevant source code for the MMORPG. Having failed to do so, the distribution of the game became problematic, thereby incurring losses for Soft-World.

Soft-World International currently handles Chinese language versions of popular MMO's RF Online, WoW and Ragnarok Online amongst others. Square-Enix, on the other hand, is a  Japanese producer of video games and manga, and is best known for its console role-playing game franchises, including the Final Fantasy series and the Dragon Quest series.

Square-Enix is yet to issue a comment regarding the lawsuit as of press time.

Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.’s World of Warcraft, the world’s leading subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game, has surpassed the one million customer milestone in Europe, more than quadrupling the previously estimated size of the entire European MMORPG market since its launch in February 2005. In addition, World of Warcraft topped the sales charts for full-price PC games in Europe last year. Worldwide, the game has a growing audience of more than 5.5 million customers.

“It is extremely rewarding to see so many European players enjoying World of Warcraft,” said Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. “The players have supported our belief in the European MMORPG market, and we thank them for helping us make World of Warcraft one of the most popular games in the world.”

Available in English, French, and German in Europe, World of Warcraft is operated by Blizzard’s local European office. Established in late 2003 and already comprising more than 400 employees and 22 different nationalities, Blizzard Europe – the second-largest Blizzard office in the world – has expanded rapidly to keep pace with the growth of World of Warcraft in Europe.

World of Warcraft has steadily grown in popularity around the world since its initial launch in North America, Australia, and New Zealand last November. Following successful launches in Korea, Europe, China and Singapore, World of Warcraft launched in the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.
