Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) gave out details on the upcoming World of Warcraft Trading Card Game championship and the March of the Legion pre-release tournament. Both events will be held next month and promise to deliver more gaming goodness for fans of the TCG.The tournament, which runs from November 30 to December 2, will be held in the San Diego Convention Center. Top players from 30 countries are invited to join this tournament, and each one will be receiving a copy of an Extended Art Thunderfury Card just for participating. The prize pot is one of the largest ever offered for any TCG with over US$ 260,000 in prizes. The winner of this year's WoW TCG world championships will be receiving a check for US$ 100,000 while the rest of the players who reach the top 100 slots will be getting a combined sum of US$ 160,000 in prize money. Here's the list of prizes:
For those who haven't been keeping up with the expansion previews, this March of the Legion introduces two new sub-factions called the Aldor and the Scryer. It also adds new keywords and even more demonic allies for players to use in their deck construction. November looks to be an awesome month for World of Warcraft TCG players everywhere with the first World Championship and the release of another expansion. If UDE keeps holding events like these, it's only a matter of time before the World of Warcraft TCG becomes the top card game in the industry. |

For those who have been waiting for the latest World of Warcraft Trading Card Game (TCG) expansion, Fires of Outland, the wait is finally over.Upper Deck Entertainment has released Fires of Outland. It contains a total of 249 cards (that's 246 for abilities, quests, equipment, among other stuff, plus three loot cards). If you're really lucky, you might pull out a Spectral Tiger loot card - and maybe be US$ 2,000 richer if you put it up on eBay. Though it might actually be better to keep the Spectral Tiger to yourself, imagine the cool points. Anyway, you better cross you fingers and take out your lucky horse shoe or four-leaf clover. A mount is in there in one of those Fires of Outland packs. Stay tuned for more World of Warcraft news and info. |

The World of Warcraft community site is now updated, this time with news about the new and exciting loot that can be found WoW's latest TCG expansion from upper Deck Entertainment, Fires of Outland. One of the more hilarious loot that can be encountered is the Goblin Gumbo, Landro Longshot's infamous secret recipe handed down by his Mama. The good news is that the Goblin Gumbo card will contain a pot with five helpings of the strange concoction, and each helping will grant a five-minute buff per player. The bad news is that the players (rather, victims) who eat the Goblin Gumbo will let out noisy, ugly belches of green gas. Another fun item that can be picked up in the expansion is the Fishing Chair, which players can draw to get a wooden chair with an umbrella, just great for fishing (yes, you can fish while relaxing under the shade of the umbrella). Use it with the hibachi blanket and umbrella from Through the Dark Portal expansion pack, and you'll have your own in-game picnic. The Fishing Chair's matching card, Gone Fishin', will let players get away from combat, grab the fishing pole, and just...go fishing. This card will also let players draw three cards from the deck, to be used on next turn. The last card mentioned in the update (certainly NOT the least), is the rarest Loot card in the expansion, the Spectral Tiger. This will grant the ability to purchase either a level 40 or level 60 mount speed Spectral Tiger. The above items can now be used in-game, and once you manage to get any of these cards, be sure to go to www.ude.com/loot to receive the digital code needed to activate the loot in game. Once you get the code, turn it in to Landro Longshot located in Booty Bay. |

We really are excited about this one, because the said loot cards are not on sale yet. They will only be available beginning August 22. Anyway, all you have to do is post a comment on the contest announcement which can be found via our Read link below. And cross your fingers that you will be chosen when the random selection of winner happens. The contest will expire on July 27 at around 7 p.m. EST. WoW players from both the U.S. and EU realms are entitled to join. And before you click that link below, take note that if you do get the mount, you still need to pay the regular mount gold and have the skill for it just like any other mount. If you are not familiar with the Spectral Tiger mount, just take a look at this short video clip: |

On April 11 (that's tomorrow!), Upper Deck Entertainment will be releasing the first ever expansion for the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. Titled "Through the Dark Portal," the new expansion will be much like how the Burning Crusade was for the original World of Warcraft. Come to think of it, it is just like BC was for WoW. Hey, if the name of the expansion weren't an obvious clue enough... Through the Dark Portal (TDP) will expand the card game to the Outland, with new races, abilities, and if that's not enough, UDE will be sneaking in a couple of game codes into some lucky booster packs. Take these codes in-game, and you can have some special prizes to grace your inventory, pets, or pouch. For the fans, there's going to be a release celebration for the expansion packs in locations across the country. And during the event, you can try your hand at experiencing the new TDP boosters. There'll be competitions and exclusive prizes. For more specific info on competition rules and mechanics and celebration locations, check out the Read link below. |

Beckett Massive Online Gamer magazine and Upper Deck is offering an exclusive downloadable game sleeve this week which features the latest expansion from the World of Warcraft TCG: Through the Dark Portal. The sleeve has exclusive artwork from Upper Deck on the back. Doug Kale, editor of Massive Online Gamer, spoke about this promo. We saw an opportunity to provide readers of Massive Online Gamer magazine and fans of Through the Dark Portal with something special for their deck holder. After they answer a few easy questions they can download the cover sleeve for free and it really adds a little spice to their World of Warcraft TCG Starter Set or Raid Deck box. There are three World of Warcraft related questions that gamers have to answer to receive the free download. To be honest, I've already answered the questions and downloaded the sleeve to give my Graccus deck box a new look for the next qualifiers tournament, so what's stopping you from doing the same? You can find the questions and download via our read link below. |

Upper Deck Entertainment recently announced the World of Warcraft: Trading Card Game Expansion Sneak Preview, which will be coming up at the end of March leading into the beginning of April. The preview will allow TCG players to come together and duel with other card collectors for a chance to win Through the Dark Portal (TDP) booster packs, playmats, and deck boxes. Sneak Previews include actual tournament matches, where players will be able to show their skills against other players. Sealed Pack tournaments, will perhaps be the main draw for TCG fans, as the tourneys will provide players with two Heroes of Azeroth packs and four booster packs of Through the Dark Portal. After matches against players of all skill levels, consistent winners will be able to keep winning TDP booster packs. Even if you aren't skilled, the event will be holding beginner matches with the Constructed, Lazy Peon and Booster Draft matches, where newbies will be able to make new friends and familiarize themselves with the game rules. In addition, all attendees should be able to grab for themselves a limited edition of the Legend of Mount Hyjal card. |

MMO game World of Warcraft became so huge that it has been transformed into different forms of entertainment. We all know about the game being featured in the cartoon program South Park as well as its various TV ads appearances. But for now, we'd like to talk about the equally massive WoW Trading Card Game.
Upper Deck Entertainment, the same company that brought us the Yugi-Oh card game, is happy to announce that fans of the game in Spain and Italy can now enjoy the card game. Accordingly, it's also planning to release local versions of it on April 11. At the moment, the card game is available only in English, French, German, and now also in Italian and Spanish. Upper Deck Europe Director of Marketing and Product Development Bruno Van Speybroeck is rather proud with this development. "We are very excited with these new additions and look forward to offering both the Spanish and Italian TCG players and World of Warcraft fans a localized TCG." |
